BIOGRAPHY

Tristan Schulze was born in 1964 in Saxony (Germany) geboren. He studied Cello in Dresden, played in an orchestra, where he got to know the classical opera and concert repertoire. He studied Indian Classical Music in Benares (India) and conducting and composition in Vienna. He founded the string trio Triology.

1995 - 2005

Together with Daisy Jopling and Alesksey Igudesman, he founded the string trio Triology. With this ensemble he played many concerts in countries as Japan, U.S.A, Mexico, Australia and all over Europe. They collabareted with artists as Julian Rachlin, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Bobby McFerrin und Hans Zimmer. less

2002 - 2016

he wrote commissions for Wiener Staatsoper (Patchwork), Gewandhausorchester Leipzig (The Animals of the Jade Emperor) Trigonale (Christophorus), NiederÃ¶sterreichische TonkÃ¼nstler (Pauls Reise) Staatstheater Braunschweig, (Hermann Hesse auf dem Weg in die MailÃ¤nder Scala), Symphonieorchester Klagenfurt (Konzert fÃ¼r Triology und Orchester) das Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg and Wolfgang Muthspiel (Konzert fÃ¼r E-Gitarre und Orchester, Drei OrchesterstÃ¼cke), Mnozil Brass and NiederÃ¶sterreichische TonkÃ¼nstler (18 PrÃ¤ludien und Septupelfuge fÃ¼r BlechblÃ¤serseptett und Orchester), for Theater an der Wien, (Premiere) Sonus Brass, (Konzert fÃ¼r Violoncello und BlechblÃ¤serquintett), for SBO Ried and GÃ¼nter Voglmayr (Flute Concerto). He frequently works for Hans Zimmer as a solo cellist (i.e. Inferno, Twelve Years A Slave), as well as a film music composer for several Austrian TV productions. less

In 2020, Tristan Schulze was announced principal conductor of Wiener Konzertvereinigung.
